Best CS 1.6 Hosting Providers in 2026

There's no single best provider — it depends on where your players live and your budget. OVHcloud and Hetzner Online together account for the largest share of CS 1.6 servers we track (thanks to their European presence and strong anti-DDoS), while smaller providers often win on price or regional latency. Pick a host with a data center near your player base, and look at the reviews from owners who already run CS 1.6 servers there.

A CS 1.6 server is extremely lightweight by modern standards — a $5-10/month VPS is usually enough for 20-32 slots. DDoS-protected plans from OVH or Hetzner start around $5-7/month. For dedicated machines you're looking at $40+ per month, which only makes sense if you run multiple servers or bundle other services.

Every hour the backend resolves each server's public IP to its ASN (the autonomous-system number belonging to the hosting company) via an IP-intelligence lookup. If the ASN matches a provider we've curated, the server is attributed to that host. Unknown ASNs aren't shown.

Only if you're a current customer. To review, say, OVH, you must (1) be logged in on counter-strike-boost.com, (2) own a claimed CS 1.6 server here whose public IP the hourly detection cron has resolved to OVH's ASN. If your server is on Hetzner, you can review Hetzner — but not OVH, Vultr, or any provider you aren't actually a customer of. This one-to-one "owner of a detected server on provider X can review provider X" rule is enforced server-side, so every review is from a verified current customer.

Some of them do — we disclose them as sponsored links (rel="sponsored") so search engines and users can tell. The ranking itself is based on the number of CS 1.6 servers actually hosted on each provider; affiliate status doesn't change the order.
